This Character Is Closest to the Real Me”: Nikhhil Raaj Khera on Tumm Se Tumm Tak

Actor Nikhhil Raaj Khera, best known for his role in Kumkum Bhagya, has joined the cast of Tumm Se Tumm Tak, produced by Prateek Sharma and Parth Shah’s Studio LSD, where he essays the role of Dr. Mohit’s father. The actor says this character is a refreshing departure from everything he has portrayed so far.
Sharing his excitement, Nikhhil revealed that his earlier roles were mostly loud and authoritative, whereas this character is calm, composed, and radiates positivity. “This role is filled with warmth, happiness, and positive energy. It’s completely opposite to what I’ve done before, which makes it even more special,” he said.
The actor also spoke about the extensive preparation that went into shaping the character. From multiple look tests to several costume changes, the process was detailed yet smooth. “Nearly 70–75 changes were done to get the perfect look. The creatives from Studio LSD and the channel were incredibly supportive and made the entire process effortless,” he shared.
Praising the production house, Nikhhil described working with Studio LSD as a privilege. “LSD stands for Laxmi, Saraswati, and Durga, and they truly live up to it. The team is grounded, loving, and vibrant. The entire set is filled with calmness and positive vibes,” he added.
Talking about his role, Nikhhil explained that he plays a loving and selfless father who couldn’t become a doctor himself but finds immense happiness in seeing his son achieve that dream. He runs a chemist shop and helps people free of cost with their mental health issues. “He’s like a psychiatrist without a degree,” Nikhhil said.
He further revealed that his character wholeheartedly supports his son’s happiness and agrees to his marriage with Anu, despite her coming from a lower-middle-class background. “The day his son became a doctor was the happiest day of his life. He can go to any extent to protect his son’s happiness,” he shared.
Nikhhil also feels a deep personal connection with the character. “I strongly believe in karma and God. What you give to the universe comes back to you. My character believes the same, which makes him very close to who I am in real life,” he said.
As the storyline progresses, viewers can expect several twists and turns. With wedding preparations in full swing—roka, shagun, marriage, and reception—his character senses that Anu is troubled and tries to uncover the truth. “It’s a love triangle, and many unexpected developments will unfold in the coming weeks,” he teased.
Tumm Se Tumm Tak revolves around Arya and Anu, a couple navigating the challenges of an age-gap relationship. Calling the story unconventional, Nikhhil said, “The age difference is often judged negatively in society, but this is a story of pure and genuine love. Whether they succeed in their journey—that’s something viewers will have to watch and find out.”
